Fresh picked wildflowers, a home-made dress, smiles, and pouring rain helped make up Sarah and Andrew's special day. Here are some of my favorites from Sarah and Andrew's wedding that took place on July 6th. All smiles as she is getting dressed. Witnessing the first time Andrew saw Sarah in her dress was such a special moment. I feel so honored to have witnessed this. About ten minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, it started POURING! It was totally crazy how much rain there was! For this reason, the ceremony was moved inside. First kiss as husband and wife! Andrew made the cake! I had so much fun photographing this wedding! It is always an honor to witness true and deep love that is shared between two people. Thank you, Sarah and Andrew for having me document your special day! Congratulations!
I had a great time working with Mike! In fact, this was not the first time we have worked together. We used to work together as music teachers, teaching elementary general music. We also worked together teaching at the UNM Music Prep School. Mike spent 18 years there, teaching marimba classes. I have had the honor and privilege of knowing Mike and his family for quite a few years now, so naturally I was so excited when he asked me to take these photos of him with his Marimba. We agreed that Old Town would be a great location for us to set up, and I believe it really did make for some wonderful shots. I hope you enjoy them! Music has always been my very first love, so I really enjoyed capturing these moments and hearing Mike play a bit in the process. Mike plays music from Mexico and Central America on his marimba, which is an authentic marimba that was hand-made in Chiapas, Mexico. I loved hearing about this marimba, it was super interesting! Again, this was a fun session.- thank you, Mike, for trusting me with your photos! I am always so grateful and happy to be a part of these moments with people. I love helping capture moments that are special-whether they are big or small. I love having a chance to visit with people and hear about the happenings in their lives, it is so fun!
I hope some of you will take a moment and check out Mike's Facebook page, Marimba Anaya (https://www.facebook.com/Marimba-Anaya-450108905719904/). He is available to play at weddings, dinners, receptions, banquets, private parties, community fiestas, farmers/growers markets, and other special occasions. Until next time, Jen |
